I love MW2. No, I hate MW2. Nooo, I love MW2. Ah F#%k This Game!

MW2 is, by far, one of the best team-based multiplayer FPS combat games of all times. The gameplay is intense, fun, action-packed, and it really does require a lot of skill with whatever weapon class you choose to use. The overall gaming experience is satisfying and enjoyable.

But, there are some things about the game we'd all like to see changed, and we're hoping the game makers heed our prayers for a more improved game experience in MW3. Here are a few changes we'd like to see implemented:

1. More realistic weapon damage: In real life, when you shoot someone with a Barret .50, a Desert Eagle .50, a .308 "Kate" sniper rifle or a .44 magnum revolver or a .45 pistol, your target is going down. With the 50-cals, no matter where you hit your target, they're going to die with one shot, and with a .308 to a .45, they will at least be in "last stand" with one shot ? no matter where you hit them. We'd like to see this changed in the game so that instead of just getting an "X" indicating we've hit the target, we get a "+100" indicating we've taken the target out of the game.

2. More realistic hit damage: In real combat, no matter what type of body armor you might be wearing, if you get hit more than once by any caliber of weapon, you're down for the count. You may not be dead, but you're disabled and taken out of the fight with bruising, broken bones or punctured ribs and arteries. But, in MW2, we can shoot someone five times or more, and all we get in our sites is a series of Xes, indicating we've hit our target numerous times. What comes next is they either run away, or they kill us. So, we'd really appreciate a game in which when we shoot our target, and we hit it, they go down.

When designing a new, realistic combat game, it's important to realize the purpose and strategy of the infantry in real modern warfare. Most foot soldiers are not trained to kill their targets ? they're trained to maim and wound them, because a dead soldier can be left behind, but a wounded soldier will slow a unit down and cost the enemy military resources, and the wounded soldier will still be unable to add to the enemy's fighting force. Therefore, the objective of a realistic modern warfare video game should be to "take your target out of the battle" ? not killing them.

Having made that point clear, here are some complaints we have about MW2:

1. How can an aircraft shoot through the roof of a building to kill a player, but a care package won't go through the roof?
2. Why would you design a map in which a care package can get stuck on a roof or an overhead bridge?
3. You fixed the Rust map glitch quickly. When will all the other glitches be fixed?
4. Why can't we stay in an XBL party and play Deathmatch?
5. Please correct the myriad of connection and networking issues. Most of the games we "lose" are games we are forced to quit to pick up buddies who got kicked during lobby merging.
6. Why don't we earn experience or complete challenges in a private game?
7. I can hide behind a concrete wall and get shot with FMJ, but I can't get shot when hiding behind a wooden crate?

And, finally, the granddaddy of them all:

I'm laying prone, on my stomach. My sniper rifle is on a bipod to help stable the weapon. I look through the scope, and it's bouncing all over hell. This is the most unrealistic portion of the game, because if you use any weapon or even just a camera on a bipod, laying prone on the ground, there would be NO SHAKE. Ugh.

And, on that note, who the hell invented the heartbeat sensor? There's no such thing, because if there were, our soldiers would be hunting birds, rabbits, squirrels and other rodents ? instead of their enemies.

In summary, we love MW2, and we will play it till our fingers bleed. But, we would really appreciate it if the makers would fix all the bugs, remove all the glitches and make the gameplay more realistic. "One shot, one kill" shouldn't be too much to ask for ? especially in this day and age when shooting someone in the arm means they're absolutely going to lose that arm.

Thanks for reading.

HA, well written. I couldn't agree more about the sniper rifles requiring way to many hits to take down an enemy. The idea of a sniper rifle is, one shot one kill. I would love to be able to get my challenges for the intervention but I need the Barrett of M21 for multiple back up shots. Even with that, you often see your target run out of view after scoring three hits.

Obviously the ability to change the power of a weapon is possible. Take for instance the 1887,s. Many people complained they were to strong and thus, an update was released to lessen their power. Lets see a couple more updates...

Gawd, MW2 is one of the best games ever, but i hate that sometimes i get on and rape everyone and an hour later i get on and suk bawls the whole time. I'm glad they fixed most of the big glitches and game unfairities.

Okay, so I have learned to love BC2. Now, I look forward to playing every day, and I have lost all interest in MW2. The difference is in the gameplay itself and in the gaming environment.

In MW2:
- You always know where the campers are going to be, and there's nothing you can do about it.
- You can unload an entire clip into someone, and they won't even flinch before turning around and killing you.
- What you see on your screen isn't always what your enemy sees on his screen
- Your sniper rifle will bob and shake even though it's on a bipod and you're in prone position
- You will always spawn in where most of your teammates are — regardless of what's happening there
- Air support rewards can be completely unfair
- Nukes are totally gay
- No new maps since its release
- The existing maps are so small you can snipe across the map with a silenced SMG.
- Without "Marathon," your character can't run more than 10 feet before being out of breath.
- The only "good" shotguns are a pair of 120-year-old shotties that would never really be used
- Machine guns have heartbeat sensors, which are totally unrealistic

In BC2:
- If you can't get to a camper, you can always mortar him or drive a tank over him
- You will down an enemy if you get 3-4 solid hits on him
- What you see seems to be exactly what your enemy sees
- There's no scope shake when using sniper rifles
- You can spawn in a random location or spawn on a squad member
- Your score is based on your personal skill — not on how many choppers you can call in
- No Nukes!
- New Maps and upgrades announced this month!
- The maps are expansive and allow for all types of gameplay — from camping and sniping to stalking and hunting
- Your character can run... ...always.
- The shotguns are based on real shotties, and they really work.
- No heartbeat sensors — only motion sensors.

In fact, the only complaint I have about BC2 is that the damage you do from a distance is the same as the damage you do up close. For example, if you shoot a guy with 2 shots from your 1911 pistol at 50 yards away, you will do the same damage as you would if you land 2 solid shots with your 1911 at point blank range. This is also true in MW2, and it's a bug I'd really like to see fixed in combat games, because as most of us know, if you land 2 rounds from a .45 pistol at close range, your target is going to be out of the battle — no questions asked.

All this considered, BC2 is just a better-made game. The squad restrictions and network interface still kinda suck, but the gameplay is a lot more fun, a lot more rewarding and a lot more realistic — making BC2 by far a better game.

If you disagree with anything, I welcome your comments.

Thanks,
FY
