MW2: Basic Domination Strategies
Welcome to post number two in our long but cool ways to win thread, this is all about my views on the game-type Domination and how we can have a controlled victory over our enemies. I would just like to say thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this and see the ways I have won countless matches online in the multiplayer extravaganza known as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2!
A rather simple game-type is Domination, I figured I would outline the Team Deathmatch and Domination game-types first since these are the main ones we play. Capture the Flag will be next just you wait!
Domination
Domination is a game-type that is pretty self explanatory. We want to take all three points on the map (usually marked on the map as point A, point B, and point C) and guess what, the other team wants these points too! Well lets start world war three!
Okay the typical match starts both teams on either side of the map, which is ironically the same spawn location as team death-match initially, kinda weird eh? Whats different this time around you ask? Well this time in order to win you have to take over key locations of the map. Notice how I said key locations, this basically refers to point A, point B, and point C. Here's the catch, once you take these said locations on the map your team starts spawning near the green flags/markers on the map according to where you died, prioritizing the closest one of coarse. Unless of coarse your team has no green flags/markers on the map in which case your team starts spawning randomly around the map until your team can secure a point. If we take all three points, the enemy will gain the respawn advantage and we will no longer know where they are spawning at all times. The point of this strategy is to control where they respawn and the direction of which they travel to the flags to make both of those aspects work in our favor, we only ever want to control two points on the map at all times. This helps with the planning and setting up of defense turrets, the bombing of their spawn point with airstrikes, and the position of your camping locations so your snipers/defense knows where the enemy is coming from at all times. I'm such a deviant evil bastard aren't I?
When the match first starts we either spawn at point A, or point C. Meaning those are the points we can trade off from time to time during a game depending on whether or not the area is overrun with commies or terrorist-arabs. The point that is a nonnegotiable/must have point is point B. This point is usually in the middle and the distance between it and one of the other two points is usually rather small, thus easy to cover and run to for defense. Also whoever grabs this point first is usually the game winner, due to it usually be a strategic nightmare to take away from the enemy (minus the use of 6 riot shielder's, 2 AC-130's, 2 harrior strikes, 3 airstrikes, 2 attack heliocopters, 1 Rory, 1 Pavlow, and in desperate times a Tactical Nuke, all up at the same time of coarse). This is why the majority of our forces should rush for B and take it first, so we don't have to waste resources trying to take it, we can use those resources just defending it. It is 1000x easier to defend rather than to assault anything. Point B is the priority, if you have the choice to defend point B or Point C, defend B first, let C fall. At that point we can either switch sides and take point A, or just retake C quickly and easily because the enemies forces will be split and completely out gunned.
After securing Point B and one of the other two points in the beginning of the game. We should then work on setting up a defensive front of men on the "front lines". These lines are there to kill, kill, kill, and kill some more! Basically trying to prevent the enemy assaults from making it past B on the map, we want them bottle necked at their first point as quickly as possible. We can advance on them and squeeze them if we like, but not to hard, we don't want to take the point remember? Unless we have to of coarse, we just want to kill them and camp the hell out of their spawn, but we still need some room to retreat back to B fairly quickly. Should the front lines falter on one side of the map and an enemy assault break the line, we need to get back to B and secure the area. Eliminate any hostile threats as quickly as possible, then return to kicking their butts! Oh by the way, as we take points we leave 1-2 people to guard each point primarily to make sure we have ample warning of incoming boogies so we can rush back and light 'em up.
At this point we just rinse and repeat until the match ends with us having a score around 200, and them somewheres below that. A perfect execution of this strategy should have an ending score of around 200-101, give or take 3 points, us having the 200 of coarse. This is a very controlled and militaristic strategy, proven to work in your real life wars for century's. Just remember being greedy and taking three points screws this strategy due to the fact that this is a completely controlled way of doing domination and have a score of nearly double that of the enemies is pretty dominating enough I would think.
This has been a Public Service Announcement from your neighborhood camping idiot named Nightmare287, thank you for reading and enjoy your fine day among the worlds best clan.
